Bookmyspace is a locally run haulage and transportation company specialising in the purchasing and collection of items from any UK retailer/store on your behalf, that other larger firms cannot provide.

We deal and work closely with UK and Jersey customs authorities; we are a fully registered haulier and clearance agent.

Initial Enquiry

Visit www.ikea.com

find the items you wish to purchase and create an online shopping list.

From there email it to us and we will quote you a price to purchase and ship your goods to Jersey. If you don’t have access to the internet we can assist you with ordering over the phone.

Our charge for shopping and shipping

We charge 25% on the total value of your goods. The charge is to personally shop, collect your items, clear customs, and transport across the sea to Jersey. Large bulky items such as kitchens will require a more tailored quote, please contact us for details. No minimum order is required however a charge of £10 will be made to small orders under £100.00

Payment

Payment is required in full for your goods, shipping, gst and delivery to secure your booking before we leave.

We do not and will not enter into alternative arrangements. There are no account facilities.

Payment can be made in person via cash (UK notes), cheque or Bacs/bank transfer.

We are happy to meet up with you at anytime to discuss any of these options.

The Shopping Day

We may need to contact you at some point during the day if an item is out of stock. If possible we may be able to offer you an alternative.

The Shipping

Customs will calculate the total value of your goods plus our shipping charge to determine whether GST is payable.

(EXAMPLE: total value Ikea goods £350, shipping £100 total £450 - gst at 3% is £13.50) - *these prices are for example only*

Customs require the shipping charge to be declared with your goods as a total amount.

We will pay your gst and clear customs but your goods will not be released until we have been settled in full.

If you fail to settle your gst payment it is our legal obligation to seize your item and store it until gst has been paid. We shall make a daily charge for this storage of £40 per day.

The on Island delivery

Once the lorry is back in Jersey we will call to arrange a convenient delivery day and time. If your goods are urgent please do let us know in advance so we can allow for this when loading the lorry. We make a small charge of £10 to deliver locally to one address/location.

Faulty or damaged items.

We will endeavour to choose for you all the best boxes off the shelves. (I.E where possible none that have been opened etc) We cannot see inside the boxes and therefore faulty or damaged items will not be noticed until you unpack the goods at home. Please do not destroy the packaging as Ikea want the boxes intact and a refund or exchange will be more possible if packaging items are in a reasonable condition. In all cases we have to abide by the decision of the store and any decision they make is full and final. We will of course be working on your side and will do everything possible to relay your instructions to them.  Bookmyspace will accept no responsibility whatsoever for faulty or damaged items, we can only assist you should a problem arise.

Return of items;

We will take back any items you wish to return subject to store policy, a handling fee will be charged, please ask for details

Useful Tips.

• Please do make sure you order the correct size - investigate each items specification in advance
• Take into account at home doorway widths, ceiling heights, corridors, stairways and delivery access.  In most cases we deliver into the doorway of your house, we do not stay and locate items into rooms like removal firms.
• If you are considering re designing the inside of a particular room, consider ordering all the items in one go as Ikea can easily discontinue a range leaving you with an incomplete set.
• Have an alternative item in mind should yours be out of stock
• Think about the small extras that might compliment your choice of furniture; cushions, covers, bedspreads, rugs, curtains etc - worth ordering it together.
• If IKEA doesn’t have what you are looking for- try a different store like Home base or DFS. We will collect from any other store or location ask for details.
